1. Size and technique
Choose the size you would like your portrait to be drawn in
from my prices & sizes guide table.

I can work on portraits in both pastel and coloured pencil.
If you are unsure which one to choose,
please take a look at some of my recent work and feel free
to ask any questions you might have. I will always offer advice if you can't
decide which size or technique is the most suitable for you.
Booking your commission
please follow these steps if you're interested in ordering your own portrait
2. Contact me
Once you have an idea what size and style you'd like your portrait to be ,
I will get back to you to discuss the commission
and any additional requests you may have such as multiple subjects,
background etc. I'll give you a detailed quote referring to my price guide.
I will also give you an estimated completion date.
This will be subject to my workload at a given time,
so please be sure to get in touch in advance if it's meant as a gift
for a special occasion.
3. Choose your photographs
I will need you to choose a few of your favourite photos that you think would make a good portrait.
You can send me as many as you wish, but 3-5 is ideal.

As my work is highly detailed, the photos you send should be high resolution,
for me to make the most lifelike representation of the subject.
I will work from one main photograph, but it's always good to have more
for reference.
The better quality the photos I'm working from, the more detailed and realistic
the end result.
In cases of memorial portraits when you are not able to take new photographs,
I will do my best to work with what pictures we have available.
Take a look at my photo tips which should help with understanding what
makes the pictures work best as portrait reference.
4. Confirm your booking with a deposit
Once we have agreed on the photographs and final portrait price, I will require a 50% deposit to secure your booking.
The full balance will be due on completion of the portrait, but only if you are completely satisfied with the finished artwork!
This will be invoiced via PayPal.
I will give you a date for the start of the portrait as well as the estimate on the completion time. It can take anywhere from 2-15 days, depending on the size and complexity of the work.
The Process
5. Progress updates and completion
I will keep you posted with frequent updates and progress photos of the creation of your portrait while working on it, from start to finish.
In case of any minor adjustment requests, I will be happy to alter the drawing at no extra cost.

Once the artwork is completed, I will send you a final scan for your approval and if you are 100% happy with the result, you will be invoiced the outstanding balance + shipping cost if applicable.
I will then proceed with packaging and postage of your portrait, making sure it gets to you safely and in perfect condition. You will receive the tracking link as soon as the package has been posted!
